MOUNTAIN BIKING: Hidden Springs Trail

← CA COYOTE CREEK GILROY CA Single Tracks →

Description

The trail includes singletrack but mostly double tracks. Most of this trail is open sky
but there are a few shady spots.

Directions

Start at Bernal and Heaton Moor Dr. If you follow the sidewalk from Heaton

Moor towards Bernal it will lead you right on the singletrack track trail that will

head up a short but steep hill. Turn right at the top of that hill and follow the

path until the creek to the left seems to end, turn left by the concrete ledge. At

this point you will be on the other side of the creek and the extremely short

path will lead you to an old paved path that heads up the hill. This paved path

will eventually end up being a dirt path after a short ways up. You will get to a

fork and at this point you will stay to the left. Keep climbing up and you will get

to Bernal Rd, you'll have to carry your bike over two logs to get to the street.

Cross the street and continue up the single track, you'll see a trail to the left

(Ohlone Trail) just after the very short climb and this will be the trail that you'll

be heading down on the way back. So stay to the right and continue the climb

up the hill. You'll get to a paved path or old road? that crosses your path but

continue straight going up the hill. You'll start heading down the hill towards

Santa Teresa Park, stay to the left. Stay left at the fork and I think this is where

the name changes to Coyote Peak Trail. I've only been able to make it up a

short ways and then I turn around and head back down the hill the same way I

came up and turn right on Ohlone Trail which is just before Bernal as you're

heading back down. If you get to Bernal then turn around and head up the very

short climb and you'll see it on the left (well worth it). You'll get to one section

with water crossing the path that will lead you up the hill on to a paved road but

make sure you stay to the left on the singletrack. You will be riding along side

Bernal which will be to your left so just keep left at the next two Y's and the

path will dump you on to Bernal. Just stay right on Bernal and it'll take you to

Heaton Moor and Bernal intersection.
